100 Classrooms for Afghanistan
About the Campaign
"100 CLASSROOMS FOR AFGHANISTAN" is a fundraising campaign initiated by
German NGO Cap Anamur and
Germany's international broadcaster Deutsche Welle.
The aim is to collect money for the construction of 100 classrooms in the
northeastern provinces of Afghanistan.
In order to support the worldwide donation drive
"100 CLASSROOMS FOR AFGHANISTAN" Gudrun Wendler initiated a joint German-American
effort to collect money for one classroom. The event took place at her Los Feliz Home on
December 12, 2003. For this occasion a special edition of 300 prints of
her painting AUTUMN was published. In addition
to that Gudrun Wendler donated the
original painting "Autumn" and several other of her works of art. Many other
sponsors also made donations leading to
the wonderful result that not only one, but two classrooms can be financed.
The Fundraising Goes On
If you are interested in supporting the campaign you can still
purchase these prints, handsigned by the
artist, with a certificate attached, for $150 plus mailing costs.
